Well, welcome back to our blog. We had some downtime since our last entry and decided it was time to retool and get back to talking with our clients, customers, and community.
Moving forward, this blog is going to cover a lot of ground...
We’ll highlight artists we work with... Producing prints, offering graphic design touchups, wrapping canvases onto frames – you name it! Artists like David Carrigan, Con Lustig, Mandy Mann, and Scott Yukio Fergus. We’ll learn about where they got their start, what inspires them, what they’re working on next, and where you can find (and maybe even purchase?) their works.
We’ll highlight our partners!
The companies, brands, and professionals we produce blueprints and do graphic design for. We’ll give readers a chance to get to know these local companies, what they offer their customers, and provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our processes and the equipment we work with!
Lastly, we’ll highlight and explore community events, gatherings, and competitions you might like to know about! We’ll explore and connect readers to creative and professional opportunities and events across the Capital City area – events injecting fresh energy into Old Town, Reo Town, East Lansing, and more. Competitions, opportunities, festivals, you name it.
With that in mind, this weekend is a big one...
Kicking it off on Friday is Arts Night Out in Old Town. From 5pm-8pm on César E. Chávez Avenue and Turner Street, local businesses expand their hours and invite visitors to meet, mingle, and snack while perusing exhibits of local artists, craftspeople, and performers.
The big event this weekend, though, is the 61st annual East Lansing Art Festival. Held Saturday (May 18th) from 10am – 6pm and Sunday (May 19th) from 10am – 5pm at M.A.C. Avenue and Albert Street, the festival features breathtaking work (available for purchase!) from dozens of Michigan and Midwest-based artists. This will include paintings, photographs, sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, 2D and 3D mixed media, illustrations, and more! Performances are scheduled on both days at the Ann Street Plaza and food trucks will be ready when your appetite strikes. For a full breakdown of scheduling, performers, and parking information, check out the Festival’s Press Release.
While you’re in the area, don’t forget to cross Grand River Avenue (safely!) and check out the MSU Spring Arts & Crafts Show at the MSU Union Grounds.
(This weekend will feature even more art events around the Capital City – check out this breakdown on Lansing City Pulse to learn about everything else happening around town!)

Next week, we’ll begin our profile of area artists, kicking it off with one of our favorites, artist and author Sarah Hillman!
